Nell Robinson & Her All-Star Band
After working on her debut album Nell Robinson in Loango, John Reischman & the Jaybirds offered to back Nell. Thus was born the All-Star Band, providing smokin’ backup for Nell’s distinctive vocals and fresh new bluegrass and country music. They perform on most of the tracks on her critically acclaimed album On the Brooklyn Road.
“Sexy vocals, whirling banjos, a romp and stomp”
San Francisco Chronicle
Fans at bluegrass festivals point out that the “Nell-birds” (as we fondly refer to the band) bring the best of both worlds: Nell’s fresh originals with a honky-tonk, country twist and the virtuoso musicianship, harmonies and often orchestral sounds and arrangements of the Jaybirds. Nell brings her sunny stage charisma and the Jaybirds add a hefty dose of good humor. Look for tight three-part harmonies, and duo and trios rotating between Nell, Jim, John, and Trisha.
With a bonus, blistering or beautiful Jaybirds instrumental to bring you home.
